Culture Comparison ( South Korea & Japan )

I Compare with aspects of culture , especially Individualism and Masculinity.
other aspect , for example power distance, Uncertainty avoidance , long term orientation , Indulgence are lack difference with two nation. but Individualsim and Masculinity , Japan have more rated than South Korea. This category said that Japan have atmosphere that we have focoused in courtesy. but excessive courtesy is resulted in individualism. and Masculinity is mean that related to competition, but i don't know exactly why japan is high than South korea nearly 3 triple.

  1. Charateristic of masculinity society is that man should be assertive and ambitious, women should be modest and caring. Japanese women have taught since they were little that they should not bother other people and should not be burden to other people so they are careful in the way of they behave. They pay their share when they have meal with other people and are grateful to what they got as gift from other people. They are benign and obedient to male. Family work is normally decided by 'father' in Japan. Through history, they have fostered strong military forces and invaded many innocent countries. So from old times Japan has traditional strong male power in society. In my book, Japanese has strong self-consciousness and be proud of themselves sometimes in improper way. They distort history and beautify their invasion in past and they value their Japanese language and has some kind of strong ethnocentrism.

  2. Japan seem to be in illusion that its country is the most unique and the best of other asian races...its effort to look "unique' to give outsiders a good impression after world war II...camouflages many foreigners' impression on Japanese culture as being wonderful ..however, the fact is, it's a superficial image that has long been kept...and thus, unless you actually live there for decades, one will not find that there is the extreme nationlism that is generated from history and still exist to some extent which resurged in 2012 street protest agains Koreans....Japanese as being polite and not desiring to create conflicts...only is on superficial light....however, the subtleness of racism and ultra nationliasm is perceived only ones who live in Japan for long time...sad that in this modern age, such ugly street hate speech is allowed and people act and behave such uncivil manner....so one can imagine what it was like before World War II...how it treated asian countries with atrociites...and stole cultural ideas and made it their own...to get credit as if its their "origin"...denying that it was influenced by China and Korea...very slick...
