Other examples of Glocalization

There are many Franchising. For example, Starbucks have many stores all around the world. It is a result of globalization. However, there are some different things between Korean store and other country stores.

These are example pictures.

USA

Korea

Can you see the differences among those stores?

In USA, there are cultures about individualism. Therefore, small chair and table is located. Also, there are uncomfortable chairs because Americans think that cafe is talking and drinking something space and they stay in cafe very short time.

However, in Korea, there is a collectivism. Thus, chair and tables are gathered. And Korean think that cafe is studying and talking very long long time so the tables and chairs are very comfortable and big size.

In conclusion,
globalization can reflect their local.
It is a Glocalization.

  1. USA people have tendency to gether together and they love talking, sharing their opinion. Compared with this, Koreans are kind of introverted and shy and reluctant to tell their opinion. Even Harvard Univ students say korean students normally dont gater toghter and they tend to study by themselves. As soon as I saw your posting, I thought about tables in restaurants of Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, they use round tables for that they can see each other and share their foods. That example also show us reflected aspect of each country's daily life and culture. So I think u got the good example of Glocalization :)
