What is Globalization (rewrite)

I think that globalization is a flow which can’t avoid it. In capitalism, exports and imports between countries is essential. Because, there is no country or continent which live perfectly well produce and gather in themselves alone. Therefore, better or not international exchanges are have to be occurred. It is may be impossible that define globalization in one simple word. Because globalization has various value about economical, cultural and political.

Accoding to Ritzer’s McDonaldization, McDonald’s burger and Nike’s shoes are not just product. They not only provide goods and service but they also bring America’s social and economic practices. Ritzer’s McDonaldization is a form of cultural globalization, but it is negative example of globalization.

Since the end of the Cold War, We live in the international system. The Cold War ended at the in the late 80s and the early 90s with the collapse of the Soviet Union. It means capitalism is better than communism. Accoding to Immanuel Wallerstein, in capitalist system the world has not become a single place.

I think Glocalization is such as a system of management or style of marketing.

It is consider not only the global but also the local. The relationship between global and local is not the opposite. It coexist like a different sides of the same coin.

In conclusion, globalization has two major intention point, increasing global connectivity and increasing global consciousness. but is not mean just a shared sense of the world as whole. And globalization is focused upon four points of reference: nation-states; world politics; individuals; and humankind. Globalization is constituted by four major facets of human life – namely, the cultural, the social, the political and the economic.

I was interesting about glocalization part. Because, I think glocalization is more intimate than globalization for me. For example, My earphones are kind of glocalization. My earphones brand is American products. But my model is aimed at asian people who has small height than American people. It is not a company’s consideration. I think it is company’s glocalization strategy. These days foreign company’s products are very common and competition between companies are also increase. Therefore, company’s which aimed at global market should consider many more things.

And before I read this handout, I think McDonaldization is a form of economic globalization. Because, I used to think McDonaldizaton is way of American company’s overseas marketing style. However, McDonaldization is a form of cultural globalization. I didn't realize that part of McDonaldization. But I’ve been thinking, McDonaldization already did own work. Now days, there are no one who likes efficiency and predictability.

In Study about globalization, I wonder that ‘Is it possible that globalization is over?’ or ‘What is the next of globalization?’ I think globalization can’t over it self. And I think next flow of globalization is kind of nationalism. I think the lack of resources or the possible dangers from the war(or terrorism)may affect the globalization to end slowly.

However, It looks as globalization it won’t end soon. So what can we do? I think globalization or glocalization by Western countries is enough. So far, globalization by Western countries is always look for growth and extension. We need to slow down. Global massive competition in all areas has incurred many global problem like global warming. We all know what the problem is and why it occurred. So then, we should try to solve the problem. But how? I think we need a new wave of globalization or glocalization.
