What is Globalization?

1) Summarize
Globalization is pretty common but it is a specific issue. It includes various inevitable issues and affects from boundaries which called globalization. Even though the general meaning of globalization is not properly defined, there are many topics about globalization.

There is no precise definition of globalization, but many people try to define it. There are various perspectives in the world, so not all definitions of globalization accepted. This is why globalization is not the word contain only one coherent meaning. Characteristics of globalization’s meaning has been considered composition of subjective and cultural factors. Sociologists defines globalization in focus of economical, political and cultural perspectives. It affected to develop an important concept that to understand globalization, Macdonaldization by Ritzer. He worried that the system stress efficiency to dominate entire society, yet he found differences of services and products by region for one brand.

An Issue about types of globalization is suggested by Immanuel Wallerstein. One of his main achievements is denominating the modern world system as global capitalistic system. He claimed that all of us will call the world as one place. However, the world has not become into one place yet. There was an argument that the world can be the one through ideological activities. The problems about ancient genesis of globalization is still continuing by scholars.

General farm of globalization should include individuals. Considering only macroscopic process is wrong perception about globalization. The range of Globalization change should include daily life and individuals as well as considering human factors. Globalization is a concept that contains old-established sociological and anthropological mergence. However, there are many people who describe ‘globalized world’ in wrong way. It occurs by no existence of precise standard and it defined with only visual perspectives. In fact, the globalized world is impossible to be true. Globalization must consider mergence perspective.

To conclude briefly, it is like below. First, globalization should consider about ritual and global connections. Globalization has certain forms with certain purpose and aim. Also globalization is focused on four points such as nation-state, world politics, individuals and human kinds. It is important to not define globalization specifically. It is impossible to give precise definition about globalization.

2) Interesting, unusual items learned
It was pretty interesting and unfamiliar since I don't know anything about globalization in detail. I always thought the globalization is that people communicate and shares internationally and affects economically each other. I never knew that it is impossible to define precise globalization. With definition of globalization from advanced countries may bring unequal relationship, so I think it is true that non-precise definition about globalization can bring equal relationship between nations. In middle of globalization description, Mcdonaldization is the topic that I learned from class, so it was easy to understand. Also it is interesting that globalization consists of cultural, sociological, political and economical rather than only cultural and economical perspectives as well as those are connected closely. After I read the writing, I had a thought about the world is globalized or may it is not.

3) Question, discussion angle
In fact, I’m not sure that I understood the English correctly or not. First, I’m sure that globalization is not possible to define precisely. Then what is the meaning of globalization that has been known globally? There is existing description about characteristics of globalization, but the meaning is not described properly. Also why the writing says globalized world is impossible and it said globalization has been done several centuries ago? I’m not sure about that. I wish to suggest a topic about this writing. If globalization is not possibly defined precisely then ‘globalized world’ can be possible?
